I listen to the buzz around me as I enjoy
my hot chocolate. What a satisfying run that was the last
time down the hill. 1200’ vertical rise– I have
conquered Bristol
Mountain! Here comes Kurt. He digs in the edges of his
skis and pumps his arms. “One more time,” he shouts. “OK,”
I say.
Today is “Kurt’s day”, and I know that tomorrow is my day of choice: a morning cross country skiing run at Bristol Harbour, lunch and shopping on Main Street in Canandaigua, and an afternoon Mineral Bath in Clifton Springs. This is my idea of a great winter getaway.
Tonight, we’re going down the street to this great little restaurant called the Brown Hound Bistro. It’s cozy, romantic, and best of all features the Finger Lakes wines that I’ve heard so much about. Then, it’s back to Belhurst and Stonecutter’s lounge – fireplace, soft music and great views of Seneca Lake.
Kurt’s back and my dreamy break is over! “Come on,” he says, “there’s another 32 trails yet to be explored – and bonus – no lines at the lift!”
